Year 10 GCSE Photography – Exploring Edward Weston
Year 10 Photography students have been studying the work of Edward Weston, a photographer celebrated for transforming everyday fruits and vegetables into abstract, sculptural forms through creative composition and lighting. To put this into practice, each student brought in a piece of fruit and experimented with photographing it using different backgrounds and lighting setups. The activity encouraged students to think imaginatively about shape, texture, and perspective — and they had great fun bringing their ideas to life. Next, they will use Photoshop to enhance their images and develop their final pieces.
