I extend a warm welcome to you and hope you will decide to make an application to work with us at Downe House Riyadh. Although we admit boys and girls from Nursery to Year 4, from Year 5 upwards we are proud to accept girls only. We seek candidates, to join our all-female staff, who are dedicated to championing girls’ education.

As a British Curriculum School, offering international GCSEs and A Levels, we seek to recruit well qualified teachers with UK qualifications and experience. Those with experience of teaching the British Curriculum but with qualifications gained in other countries are also welcome to apply.

As a British International school, proud to have brought the Downe House Schools to the Middle East, we take a strong position in relation to teaching Arabic, Islamic and Social studies. We want our Arabic speaking pupils to leave the school with an equal competence in the English and Arabic language. Our non-native Arabic speakers benefit from high quality teaching too, enabling them to learn this increasingly important global language whilst they study in Riyadh. We recruit local staff with Ministry of Education approved experience to teach these subjects. Our Teaching Assistants are also recruited from within the local community.

I am a Principal who expects a lot of her staff. You must care deeply for educating children and nurturing them academically and pastorally. We offer a wide range of co-curricular activities, into which I expect my staff to immerse themselves. We are fortunate to have bright and engaged pupils who enjoy school and want to be challenged whatever their age. Our staff must commit to the ethos that we give freely of our time and energy to grow and strengthen our community in all ways. In return we offer a competitive salary package, commitment to developing staff through CPD and opportunities for progression within our community of schools.
